Adventurer Wanted: Help Families Thrive with Their Canines
Caitlin’s Animal Training is looking to expand with an independent contractor. This is a part time position leading into full time.
We’re looking for a fellow visionary who doesn’t just want a job, they want to shake up how the dog training industry works. We are an innovative company that has never needed to use prong, choke, or electronic shock collars to see quick and long lasting results.
We believe there is no such thing as a bad dog. Only dogs who are misunderstood and are asking desperately for help. We don’t see ourselves as dog whisperers but instead as Animal Translators helping dogs and humans thrive together.
If you’re an animal person who loves people and want to help us build a pain free, empathy driven, tail wagging revolution, let’s talk.
A great fit for this role is someone with customer service skills and a background in education.
The Pet Professional Guild certification is preferred and the ideal candidate is an independently licensed and insured contractor

The Keys to Caitlin’s Heart
Core Requirements
- Must be emotionally mature enough to take feedback without spiraling or getting defensive (We’re here to grow, not to protect fragile egos.)
- Must be genuinely curious about dog behavior, learning theory, and the “why” behind the work (If you love geeking out over behavior patterns, we’re already friends.)
- Must value humane, ethical, science-based training methods (No intimidation tactics, no macho nonsense, no “alpha” theatrics.)
- Must be dependable in the unsexy ways (Showing up on time, responding to messages, following through.)
- Must be comfortable being both autonomous and collaborative (You can run your sessions like a pro, but you’re not a lone wolf refusing to communicate.)
- Must be able to manage your own schedule and workload without needing to be micromanaged (I’m a supportive leader, not your personal executive function replacement.)
- Must be willing to be the face of the business in the community (You’ll be representing the brand, not hiding behind a logo.)
- Must be emotionally regulated around stressed dogs and stressed humans
(Yes, the humans are often the harder species.) - Must be okay with getting muddy, slobbered on, and occasionally humbled by a very confident chihuahua
- Must be aligned with a growth mindset
(You don’t have to know everything—but you do have to want to learn.)
Day-to-Day Requirements
- Working with dogs who are anxious, over-aroused, reactive, under-socialized, or just deeply committed to chaos
(You don’t panic when a dog has big feelings.) - Coaching humans with wildly different learning styles, expectations, and emotional baggage
(Dog training is people training with fur involved.) - Being calm, professional, and kind in public spaces
(Even when someone says, “My dog is friendly” as their dog lunges like a WWE wrestler.) - Driving between locations in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas
(You and your car will become close companions.) - Creating simple, honest video or photo updates of training progress
(No influencer perfection required—clarity and authenticity over aesthetic nonsense.) - Continuing education in dog behavior, training skills, and human communication
(If you think you’re “done learning,” this is not your arena.) - Showing up to community events, meetups, demos, or PR moments when needed
(We build trust by being visible, not hiding.)
Optional but would be lovely
- Experience running your own small business, side hustle, or freelance work
(You understand self-motivation and the feast-or-famine emotional rollercoaster.) - Comfort with content creation, storytelling, or talking about dog training in a relatable way
(You don’t sound like a robot reciting a training manual.) - A personal value system rooted in empathy, fairness, and respect—for dogs and humans
(Yes, this is a feminist-coded workplace: consent, boundaries, and dignity matter.) - The ability to laugh at yourself when a dog humbles you in public
(Character development moment.)
