Word of the Day – Negative Reinforcement

Negative reinforcement (R-): The act of the dog removing a stimulus after a behavior occurs to increase the behavior. Usually something the dog will work to actively avoid and commonly seen with tools that elicit pain such as prong, choke, and shock collars ie: Pressue from a prong collar is removed when the dog sits down.
